Performing at the Sail Loft Folk Club

Q. What's missing from this picture?
A. You!!

If you're interested in music and always wondered what it'd be like to play to an audience, well … here's your chance! The Sail Loft Folk Club exists for just this sort of thing. There are no prima donnas here, and we have no airs or graces, just friendly people willing to give you a chance to "have a go". The list below sets out what's involved.

Check List

This list is aimed at the UK venue. More info will be posted about our sister club in the USA when we have it.

1.No one gets paid to play. We do it because we love it.
2. Conversely, it doesn't cost anything to play, or to listen, for that matter! Yep, we're free!
3. You will always be welcome, whatever you play, but please bear in mind that we're a "folk" club, which roughly translates into "acoustic". Okay, so we bend the rules occasionally, but I'm sure you get what we mean.
4. We're in a pub, so sometimes it gets noisy. It also gets packed solid at times because people enjoy listening to music.

5. We have a P.A. so people can hear, even when it's noisy.
6. We're here every Sunday, from about 8pm onwards.
7. Some Sunday's are a guest night which means we have a limited Open Session available for people who turn up and want to play.
8. Some Sunday's are purely Open Sessions, completely open to anyone who turns up and wants to play. What we do is alternate: Guest Night one week of the month, Open Night the rest and so on. You will be able to find out what type of night it is from our Home Page.

That's it, really. The rest is up to you!
